Description

The Village Pump is a pump and shelter built around 1867, commissioned by the Reverend Lord John Thynne. The shelter features a timber structure resting on a plinth made of coursed rubble, topped with a hipped roof covered in decorative clay tiles. The pump itself has a timber casing with moulded panels and is adorned with gablets. It includes an iron handle and spout. The front elevation of the wooden casing displays a carved inscription that reads: "O ye wells bless ye the Lord."
