Description
The Church of All Saints is a parish church built between 1867 and 1868 by Sir A. Blomfield. It is constructed of yellow brick with red brick banding and dressings, along with some ashlar dressings. The roofs are made of clay tiles featuring bands of fishscale tiles and ridge cresting. The church includes a chancel, a north organ chamber, a south vestry, north and south transepts, a nave, and an apsidal west baptistry flanked by lean-to porches. The architectural style is a mixture, predominantly featuring round-arched windows, Early Gothic style rose windows at the eastern end of the chancel and in the transepts, and pointed arches at the doorways. The chancel has a gabled bellcote at the west end. Inside, the decoration mainly consists of intricate polychrome brickwork, along with carved foliate and figured stone capitals. The chancel roof retains its original coloured stencil decorations.
