Description

Tilcocks is a house built in the late 18th century. It features red brick with a chequered pattern made of vitrified headers and has a slated mansard roof. The building has a three-window facade, is two storeys tall with attics, and includes sash windows with glazing bars. The ground floor windows are set beneath gauged brick heads. In the attic, there are two box dormers that contain two-light casements with glazing bars. The central doorway has a six-panel door topped by a rectangular fanlight with ornamental glazing bars. The doorway is framed by a moulded architrave, panelled pilasters, and a simply moulded entablature, and it is accessed by two stone steps. There are red brick stacks at both gable ends and a timber dentil cornice along the eaves.
