Description
66-68 High Street is a block of three cottages located in Southill, dating from the early 19th century and representing a reworking of an earlier building. The cottages are constructed with a timber frame and feature a colourwashed roughcast render on the exterior. They have clay tile roofs, with bands of fishscale tiles on the central block. The building is one storey with attics, featuring a gabled cross-wing on the left-hand side, while the central block and right-hand cross-wing are also one storey and attics but slightly taller.
The ground floor has six windows of various sizes, and the attic includes three windows—one in each gable and a central gabled dormer. All windows are fitted with cast iron lattice casements. There are three plank doors located under gabled open porches. Each gable is adorned with pierced decorative bargeboards, and there are a variety of red brick stacks, all featuring brick mouldings.
