Description
Nos. 253 and 254 on Old Harrowden Road are 17th-century houses featuring a timber frame with pebbledash render and an old clay tile roof. The buildings are arranged in an L-plan, standing two storeys high with attics, and include a one-storey block to the west.
The front elevation of the main block has two two-light casement windows on both the ground and first floors, an additional single-light casement on the first floor, and a hipped dormer with a two-light casement in the attic. The lower block mirrors this with similar casements and includes one gabled dormer in the attic. The main block has a plain door, while the lower block features a plank door. The roof of the main block is half-hipped to the east, with a red brick integral stack on the east elevation and an external red brick multiple stack at the junction with the lower block to the west.
