Description

Anglestones is a 17th-century house and former barn that was altered and extended in the early 20th century. The house is constructed of coursed limestone rubble. The main roof is thatched with 20th-century tiles, with a slightly offset western bay and a return wing. The house is one storey with attics. All the windows are 20th-century leaded lattice casements, with one ground-floor window on the north elevation incorporating some painted medieval glass. Reused medieval timbers are found internally, along with a Jacobean staircase. The south elevation features a 20th-century central gabled wing. A western wing, originally a barn, has been converted into residential accommodation.
