Description

This is a row of seven cottages, built in the mid-18th century, located on the north side of Main Road, Biddernham. They are timber-framed with roughcast rendering and have thatched roofs. Red brick ridge stacks are present, and there’s a rendered external chimney stack on the gable end of number 20. The cottages are generally one storey high with attics, although numbers 20 and 22 are taller than the others. Seven dormer casements are set into the thatched roofs, with the thatch cut back to reveal them. The ground floor windows are modern casements, and the doors are planked. Modern extensions have been added to the cottages.
