Description
Sailors Bridge Cottages are a pair of cottages that were once part of the Hoo estate, dated 1865 as indicated by a plaque on the southwest gable. They are designed in the cottage ornee style, featuring chequered red brick with yellow brick dressings and fishscale tile roofs. The cottages are arranged in an L-plan, consisting of one storey and attics, with single-storeyed outhouse blocks to the north. Each cottage has two windows on the ground floor and three gabled dormers in the attic, all fitted with 20th-century two-light casements. A central gabled porch, which was rebuilt in the 20th century, is present. Aside from the porch, the gables maintain their original carved finials and bargeboards, which display cusps and floral decorations.
