Description
The building is a former stable block located immediately north of Milton Ernest Hall, designed by William Butterfield. It features coursed limestone rubble with red brick decorative details and old clay tile roofs. The structure is arranged in an L-plan with ranges on the north and east sides. The east range is a single storey with attics and has been converted into a dwelling. It includes a stone coped gable end to the south, three gabled dormers, and modern windows. The lower range on the north side consists of several units and ends in a tall square storehouse made of limestone with red brick dressings. This storehouse has upper and lower doors with two-centred arched heads on the west side, connected by stairs, and a cambered headed window with a quatrefoil above on the south side. It is topped with an ornate wrought iron pinnacle on a hipped clay tile roof.
