Description

This is a house, formerly a pair of school mistresses' cottages, built on the grounds of a school estate in the 19th century, after 1805. The walls are of colour-washed, coursed limestone rubble, an unusual material for this area, with some brick detailing. The roof is tiled. The house has a 3-room plan and is one storey in height with attics. There are two 3-light casement windows on the ground floor, and two gabled dormers with 2-light casement windows, largely dating to the 20th century. Two doors are present; the left-hand door has been blocked, and they are positioned in line with a red brick ridge stack that serves back-to-back hearths.
