Description
Nos 8-11 on Carlton Road are the remains of an 18th-century building that was altered and extended in the mid-19th century to create a terrace of estate houses. The structure is made of coursed limestone rubble and features an old clay tile roof. It has an H-plan layout with a double-gabled wing at the south end, which includes the surviving 18th-century elements. The building is two storeys high. On the west elevation, the first floor has a series of windows arranged in a 1:3:1:1 pattern with two-light casement windows. The ground floor has the same window arrangement, except for a fixed three-by-three pane window at the north gable end and a canted bay at the south gable end. The central block features a doorway with a gabled bracketed hood positioned to the right side.
