Description

Braehead is a mid-19th century house. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with a hipped roof of Welsh slate. The house has a symmetrical three-window bay plan. A large, 20th-century stone chimney stack is centrally located. The south-western elevation features three sash windows with glazing bars on the first floor, and two sash windows on the ground floor, flanking the central doorway. The doorway has a six-panelled door and a rectangular fanlight with geometric glazing bars, set within a surround of plain pilasters, an architrave, and a flat doorhood. A large, two-storey extension was added in the 20th century to the south-east side, built of limestone rubble with a Welsh slate roof.
