Description
42 Bridge Street is a Grade II listed building, originally three estate cottages, now converted into a single dwelling. It dates from around 1860 and is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with a Welsh slate roof. The building has an H-plan layout and features a central block with three red brick chimney stacks, each having three square flues set at right angles to the base.
The south elevation has projecting gable ends, each with one casement window featuring pointed arched glazing bars on both floors. The central block contains three casement windows with glazing bars on the first floor, while the ground floor has two arched doorways; the left-hand doorway is blocked up and has a 20th-century casement window.
On the west elevation, there are two sash windows with glazing bars on each floor, along with a central blocked doorway. The east elevation features two 2-light casements on each floor and a central open-sided gabled porch.
