Description

The Manor House is a large farmhouse that features multiple architectural periods. The front block, dating from the early to mid-19th century, faces Memorial Lane, while the rear wing is from the 17th century and looks onto Church End.

The front block is constructed of coursed limestone rubble, roughly finished to resemble ashlar, and has a double-hipped Welsh slate roof with wide eaves. It stands two storeys tall with attics and has a symmetrical front elevation. The central part of the façade is recessed, featuring a front door that is also recessed and flanked by two small sash windows, all beneath a flat hood that spans the width of the recess and is supported by small fluted columns at each end. Above the door, there is a tall, thin sash window with a blind panel in the lower portion. Each side wing of the front door has large sash windows with three lights and wooden mullions on both the ground and first floors. The windows and front door are adorned with heavy sills, raised surrounds, and keystones. The roof includes three box dormers with sashes.

The rear wing is made of coursed limestone rubble and features an old clay tile roof. A central brick chimney stack is located opposite the front door, and the gable end is stone-coped. There is one three-light leaded casement window under a timber lintel on the first floor. Additionally, there is a 19th-century stone extension at the angle between the two main wings.
