Description

This is a 17th-century cottage located on Bedford Road in Great Barford. Originally listed as number 8, it is now known as number 6, Dorchester. The exterior is colour-washed rough cast over a timber frame, with a gable end of colour-washed brick. The roof is thatched. The cottage has a three-room plan and one storey with attics. On the front, there are two 2-light horizontal sash windows with glazing bars, one 2-light casement window with glazing bars, and a front door located on the right-hand side. Two dormers each contain a 2-light casement window with glazing bars. A red brick ridge stack is present. Single-storey lean-to and flat-roofed extensions have been added at the rear.
