12, 13 AND 14, WYRE HILL

Nos 12, 13, and 14 Wyre Hill is a house that has been divided into three separate homes. It dates from the second half of the 15th century and has undergone alterations in the mid-19th century. The building is constructed with a timber frame, featuring brick infill and a tiled roof. It consists of three framed bays, with a stack added to the west of the central bay and a former through-passage located to the east of the central bay. The house is two storeys high and originally had three windows, but the casements are now missing, leaving just the openings. On the ground floor, there are two boarded-up windows and boarded-up entrances to the right of the left-hand bay, to the left of the central bay, and to the left of the right-hand bay. The timber framing is unpainted, with two rectangular panels high and a curved tension brace to the left. The roof features clasped purlin roof trusses with curved wind-braces, and the hall was originally open to the roof. At the time of the survey in June 1985, the building was unoccupied.
