Description
The Black Boy Public House is a building that was originally a house, possibly dating back to the 15th century, with early 19th century and some late 20th century alterations. It features a timber frame with painted brick infill and a concrete tile roof, topped with a ridge stack. The building has two storeys and four windows on the front. On the left side, there is a 3-light casement window, followed by a single-light window, a 3-light window, and a 2-light casement window on the right. The ground floor has a lean-to extension from the 19th century on the right side, also with a concrete tile roof and a 2-light casement window. The rest of the front has four windows: to the left, there is a pilastered window with a moulded cornice and two panes, then a 2-light casement, and on the right, a pair of 2-light casements. At the left-hand corner, there is a passage with an entrance that features a wooden doorcase, scroll brackets supporting a flat canopy, and a ledged and boarded door. The framing has been restored but appears to have originally consisted of two rectangular panels high.
