Description

Lower House is an early 18th-century house located on Areley Lane in Areley Kings. The brick house has a hipped roof covered in plain tiles. It is three stories tall and has three bays, with a square plan.

The front elevation, facing the entrance, is faced with a redder brick and features a central six-panelled door, topped with an overlight, within a moulded doorcase supported by console brackets. The windows are 12-pane sashes with flat, rubbed brick arches. The attic windows have horizontal sliding sashes. The garden front is also three bays, although the central bay houses a stack and has blind window recesses. Casement windows with mullions, transoms, and small leaded panes are present in the right-hand bay. A long stair window is located on the rear elevation.

An additional bay was added to the northeast, likely in the early 20th century, featuring an asymmetrical gable. The house has side wall stacks. The original staircase remains inside.
