Description
Areley House is a house built around 1820, constructed from sandstone ashlar and topped with a slate roof. The building has three storeys and is raised on a basement made of contrasting stone. It features five bays, with the central three bays projecting and topped with a pediment. The projecting porch is supported by paired Ionic columns and has a heavy entablature. The round arched doorway is adorned with interlaced glazing in the fanlight. The house has 12-pane sash windows, with one window to the right of the doorway being blind. There are sill bands and a modillion cornice at the eaves and pediment. The rear elevation includes a full-height segmental bow with sash windows, and there are paired axial stacks located towards the rear of the roof.
