Description

Sion Hill House is an early 18th-century house, remodelled in the early 19th century, with later 20th-century alterations. It is built of stuccoed brick and has a slate roof. The house is three storeys high and features a moulded cornice. It has five windows, with glazing bar sashes. The second floor has windows of a smaller proportion than those on the lower floors. A shallow-pitched roofed verandah extends across the front, supported by five wooden posts, with a glazing bar sash window to the left and a square bay window to the right. The entrance, slightly left of centre, has a moulded wooden architrave with an overlight and a half-glazed door.

Inside, the main room to the right of the entrance (now subdivided) contains re-set 17th-century panelling, including an overmantel with a pair of dragons and a bolection moulded fire surround. A 18th-century staircase to the rear features turned balusters.
