Description
The churchyard cross, located about 10 metres south of the Church of St Cassian in Chaddesley Corbett, is likely from the 15th century and was restored in 1903. It is made of sandstone ashlar and features three square steps leading up to a square socket stone. The top of the cross is octagonal, with stops at the corners, and it has an early 20th-century octagonal shaft topped with a finial. On the north side of the socket stone, there is an inscription that reads: "To the glory of God and in loving memory of Henry Harris Oldnall, Captain RNA, who died at Z ....., South Africa, January 29th 1901. This ancient cross was restored 1903."
