Description

Stildon Manor is a manor house, now a farmhouse, dating from the mid-18th century, built on a medieval site. It has undergone alterations in the mid-19th century and the mid-20th century. The building is constructed of brick with a machine tile roof. It has an H-shaped layout, with gable-ended brick stacks on the cross-wings.

The south front features gabled cross-wings, each of two storeys, with a three-light casement window beneath a segmental head on each floor. The return fronts of the cross-wings have dentilled brick cornices. The central range is one storey high with an attic; it has two gabled dormers and, on the ground floor, a three-light casement window under a segmental head. A lean-to tiled porch from the 19th century is located on the left-hand corner.

The interior contains no visible structures predating the 18th century, although the roof has not been inspected, and the arrangement of rooms suggests the possibility of earlier, medieval fabric.
