Description
The Field Barn is an 18th-century structure built from blue lias stone and topped with a plain tile roof. It features four bays and a double purlin roof supported by a collar and tie beam truss, which includes queen struts and upper angle struts. There are cart entrances on each side of the barn. At the east end, there is a later addition of an open bay cart shed with a hipped east gable. The west end has another open bay range that runs south, supported by brick piers and featuring a half-hipped end gable. This barn is notable for being the only building marked outside the village on the 1772 enclosure map.
