Description
Prior House is a farmhouse built in the late 18th century and early 19th century. It is constructed of red brick, with some rubble stone at the rear, and features a slate roof with coped gables and two stacks at the back. The east front is three stories high and has three windows, with coved stucco eaves, stucco quoins, and window heads that include incised voussoir lines and keystones, along with cornice strips. The windows are glazing bar sash types, and there is a six-panel door with a doorcase that has reeded strips and an altered hood, along with panelled reveals. The rear wings are made of rubble stone and brick, featuring some openings with cambered heads and brick surrounds. This part of the building is said to date back to 1790.
