Description

This ice house, located about 150 yards south-west of Ombersley Court, dates from the late 18th century. It is constructed from sandstone and brick and features an egg-shaped, domed pit with cambered sides, approximately 30 feet deep. The entrance has a round-arched tunnel leading to a sunken cooling chamber. A re-used door with six raised and fielded panels was fitted during the mid-20th century. This ice house is a particularly interesting example of a large structure in good condition.
