Description

Thatchways is a house dating from the 17th century, with extensions built in the 18th century and some alterations in the mid-20th century. It is timber-framed with rendered infill and a thatched roof. The house comprises two blocks, each of two bays, joined at a corner. The eastern front shows a 17th-century block projecting slightly to the left of a later block. The left-hand block is of one storey with an attic lit by an eyebrow dormer. An entrance is located in the corner, with a 20th-century ledged and boarded door. The right-hand block is taller, also of one storey with an attic, featuring a 2-light and a 3-light casement window on the ground floor. The timber framing consists of three and four square panels high.
