Description

Fir Bank is a house dating from the 17th century, with some alterations made in the late 20th century. It features a timber-frame construction with rendered infill set on a coursed rubble plinth, topped with a combination of thatch and machine tile roofing. The building has an L-shaped plan, with a jettied front range extending to the north and a rear range to the west. There are gable-end stacks and a stack located at the junction of the two ranges.

The east front of the house is two storeys high and includes a cellar. It has canted oriel windows on both floors, with a cellar entrance situated below. The entrance is located in the left-hand return front. The framing of the front range consists of three square panels above two rectangular panels, supported by straight angle braces.
