Description
The Limes is a house dating from the 17th century, with some alterations made in the late 19th and mid-20th centuries. It features a timber-frame construction with rendered infill set on a lias plinth and has a machine tile roof. The building has a T-plan layout, with a cross-wing that runs north to south and an additional range extending east, which consists of three framed bays.
The entrance lobby is positioned against the central stack of the eastern range. The house is one storey high with an attic, which is illuminated by two gabled dormers on the left side and a 2-light casement window in the gable on the right. The ground floor includes four windows, all of which are 2-light casements. The entrance is accentuated by a gabled tiled canopy and features a ledged and boarded door. The timber framing consists of three square panels with straight angle braces, while the cross-wing has two rectangular panels high.
