Description

The garden wall, gate piers, and mounting block at Old Astwood Farmhouse date from the mid-17th century and are constructed of sandstone ashlar. The wall stands approximately four feet high and encloses the garden to the west, north, and east. The west side features square piers that have chamfered plinths, moulded cornices, and pyramidal capping, topped with large ball finials. At the rear of the north section of the west wall, there is a mounting block with four steps.
