Description
No. 36 Church Street is a house and shop that was formerly a bakery, built in the early 19th century and substantially restored in 1976 by Worcester Building Preservation Trust. The building is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and features a plain tile roof with painted brick dogtooth eaves and a brick ridge stack.
The exterior has three storeys and a single-window range, with 8/8 sash windows. The first-floor window is topped with a segmental brick arch. On the ground floor, there is a bracketed 20th-century hood over a partly renewed and remodelled bow shop window with small-pane glazing. To the right of the shop window is a moulded doorcase with an overlight and a part-glazed 20th-century door.
The interior has not been inspected. The building has a substantially complete 19th-century facade that retains its scale and makes a significant contribution to the character of the contemporary properties on this street.
