Description

Number 3 Church Row is an early 19th-century former inn, now a detached house, situated on a corner plot in Pershore. The building is constructed of red brick, with some red and yellow brick to the side, in a Flemish bond pattern. It has a Welsh slate roof, partly hipped, with brick dentilled eaves. A brick stack is visible at the left end, and a central brick ridge stack serves the right-hand return range.

The main Church Row elevation has three bays across and two bays deep, with a single-storey wing set back on the left. The windows are 8/8 sash windows with exposed boxes and projecting sills. Ground floor windows have brick segmental arches, painted to imitate voussoirs and keystones. A central porch features Doric columns and pilasters, a shallow cornice, and a part-glazed 6-panel door. A cellar grille is also present. The roof of the wing is hidden behind a parapet.

The Lower Priest Lane elevation has windows matching those on the front, and a doorcase on the right with pilasters, an open pediment, a false fanlight, a 4-panel door, and two stone steps leading up to it. The interior has not been inspected.

The building was also formerly a tugger's premises. The building has group value; its significance is enhanced by its contribution to the character of the surrounding area.
