Description
The Evans and Milward tombs are two pedestal tombs located approximately 19 meters south of the southeast nave of the former Church of St Andrew in Pershore. They commemorate members of the Evans and Milward families and date from the mid-18th century to the early 19th century.
The eastern tomb is a plain square pedestal with a gabled capstone and plinth, which was formerly partly painted and had railings. It features four inscription panels that honor members of the Evans family who died in 1766, 1780, 1784, and 1836.
The western tomb is a rectangular chest tomb topped with a capstone and has a moulded plinth and base stone, also formerly with railings. This tomb is decorated with carved angels, wings, doves, and drapes on the sides, as well as cartouches of weepers at the ends. It includes two inscription panels commemorating members of the Milward family who died in 1816 and 1876, with the latter being an addition.
