Description

Nos. 6 and 8 High Street are a mid-18th century building constructed of painted brick. The building is two storeys high with attics. It has five flat-headed, twelve-pane sash windows, each with a moulded sill and keyblock, the central window’s keyblock being more elaborate. Modern shop fronts have been inserted. The building has moulded brick eaves and an old tile roof, with one gabled dormer window. A central entrance door to No. 8 features fielded panels. The buildings from Nos. 2 to 24 (even numbers) on the South Side form a notable group of listed buildings.
