Description
This is a group of four chest tombs located approximately 3 to 12 metres north of the north entrance of the Abbey Church in Pershore. They date from the late 18th century to the early 19th century and are constructed of ashlar in a rectangular shape.
The first tomb commemorates William, the son of Francis and Eliza, who died in 1782. It features decorative inscription panels that include heads and wings of angels. The second tomb honors Ann Marton, who died in 1839, and is designed with a plinth and a heavily-moulded cornice. The third tomb commemorates an individual named Spencer, who died in 1806, and is adorned with panels decorated with drapes and fluting, as well as circular inscription panels at the ends. The fourth tomb is dedicated to members of the Wilson family, dating back to 1764, and includes two inserted inscription panels, urned ends, and an additional inscription slab on top.
