Description
The gate piers and adjoining front wall to the Dower House date from the early 17th century, with the gate piers likely restored in the mid to late 19th century. The structure is made of coursed, dressed sandstone rubble, featuring ashlar gate piers. The wall stretches approximately 55 yards long and stands about 3 feet high, topped with ridged moulded coping. The gate piers are positioned to align with the entrance to the Dower House and are square in shape, showcasing banded rustication, moulded capping, and ball finials.
