Description
The Evesham Hotel, formerly known as the Mansion House Hotel, is a building primarily from the 17th and 18th centuries, with an earlier timber-framed section in the central and northern bays. The exterior is faced in roughcast and features two storeys plus an attic. The facade includes gabled projecting bays on either side, with one larger bay on the right, each containing one window. The centre of the facade has five sash windows in broad cases, a central gable, one gabled dormer, and an impressive moulded wood doorcase with engaged Tuscan pilasters, a pulvinated frieze, and a pediment.
The garden elevation, altered around 1810, features a projecting bay with three windows in stone keyed surrounds, a tall semi-circular headed window that lights the staircase, and a large bow window on the ground floor. The northern wing has been altered and extended. The building has moulded wood eaves and a tiled roof. Inside, there is a Queen Anne staircase and panelling in the stairwell and landing, both of which are now painted.
