Description
Russell Terrace is a row of three houses built in the early to mid-18th century, with 19th-century additions and 20th-century alterations. The houses are constructed of limestone and feature a roof made of stone slate and slate. They are two storeys high and consist of three bays made of ashlar stone, which includes a storey band and 2-light rebated and chamfered mullioned windows. The central bay contains a door with a cyma-moulded surround. The stonework of the left-hand bay is painted, while the facade to the left is rendered and painted, featuring a 20th-century metal casement window on each floor. To the right of the ground floor window, there is a doorway with plain reveals. Adjacent to the right are two bays made of squared stone, also with a storey band, and 2-light timber casement windows with plain reveals. A door on the left has plain reveals, and there is a blocked doorway on the right. The gables are topped with copings that separate the three sections of the facade. A chimney with a brick cap is located to the right of the left-hand doorway on the front wall, with additional chimneys on the gables, to the left of the right-hand bay, and to the left of the right-hand doorway.
