Description
The terrace at 11-17 Diglis Road comprises four houses built around 1850. The two houses on the left are slightly lower and were constructed at a different time to the pair on the right, which have later additions and alterations. The houses are built of brick in Flemish bond, with stucco arches to the right and stucco over brick to the left. The roofs are slate. Party wall brick stacks with oversailing courses and some retaining pots are located at the front and rear of the left pair, while party walls and end stacks are present at the right pair.
The terrace has two storeys and a 2:2:3:3 window arrangement on the first floor. The first floor windows include blind windows, 8/8 sashes and a blind opening. The right pair of houses have 6/6 sashes, with the centre windows of each house narrower than the outer ones. Ground-floor windows are 8/8 sashes, followed by 6/6 sashes, all in plain reveals with sills. The right pair have flat, voussoir arches and keystones above their ground-floor windows.
The left pair of houses have outer entrances with flush panelled doors and overlights containing marginal glazing bars, with hoods in plain reveals. The central pair of houses have an entrance with a 6-panel door in a pilastered surround with a pediment, and another with a 4-raised-and-fielded-panel door and a fanlight with radial glazing bars, contained within a pilastered surround with an open pediment. Interiors have not been inspected.
