Description
Nos. 59 and 61 St Johns are terraced houses that have been converted into a single shop on the ground floor. They were built between 1780 and 1820 and have undergone later additions and alterations. The buildings are constructed of brick and feature a plain clay tile roof with dentilled eaves. The structure has a double-depth plan, although all internal walls on the ground floor have been removed. The houses rise to three storeys and have three first-floor windows, with the central window being blind. Each side has a 2/2 sash window that is near-flush with the sills and set under cambered brick arches. The ground floor has been altered in the mid to late 20th century. There are also two large gabled dormers, each with paired 3-pane side-hung casements. The upper floors have not been inspected.
