Description
Lock Cottage, located next to Barge Lock No. 2, is a lock cottage that likely dates from around 1815, with some alterations made in the late 19th century. The building is constructed of whitewashed brick and features a Welsh slate roof with brick end stacks. It is two stories high and has a two-window range of sash windows with glazing bars. There is a doorway positioned to the center right, which includes a doorcase and a flat hood. The roof ridge is higher on the left side. To the right, there is a one-story extension that has a similar doorway at the front and a bay window at the right end. This cottage is part of a group with Barge Lock No. 1 and Barge Lock No. 2, which are also located at Diglis Dock Basin near the River Severn.
