Description

The churchyard cross, located about 15 yards south of the chancel of the Church of St John the Baptist, is likely from the 15th century and was restored around 1880. It is made of sandstone ashlar and features a square, four-stepped base. Above this base is a tall graduated plinth with chamfered upper corners, which supports a short 19th-century cross. The cross bears an inscription that reads, "RESTORED BY/ THOMAS POONE (?) VICAR/ 1881 (?)".
