Description

The Beach Eades memorial is a chest tomb located about 20 yards north-east of the chancel of the Church of St John the Baptist. It dates from the early 19th century and is made of ashlar stone. The tomb features a moulded plinth and a flat capping, with corner pilasters that have floral relief decoration. There are raised inscription panels with moulded edges that commemorate Thomas Beach Eades, who died in 1802, and Martin Beach Eades, who died in 1806. This well-preserved chest tomb is prominently situated in the churchyard and is included for its group value.
