Description

The retaining walls and steps with intermediate spurs are located approximately 15 meters south of Witley Court. They were built around 1860, during the time when the Court was remodeled by S. Daukes and the gardens were designed by Nesfield for Lord Ward, who later became the first Earl of Dudley. The structure features a stone quadrant wall with two end spurs and two central spurs to the east of the central steps, which once supported four large reclining lions that are now missing. There is also a semi-circular wall at the eastern angle, but the steps and walls to the east are no longer intact.
