Description
The Hermitage is a house from the late 18th century, constructed of brick in Flemish bond with a tile roof. It has two storeys and three bays. The windows feature glazing bars and ogee brick heads. On the ground floor, there are tripartite sash windows, while the first floor has casement windows. A 19th-century gabled porch is located in the middle bay. The garden front, which faces southeast, includes a central two-storey canted section. The outer windows are sashed with glazing bars, and the central windows have 20th-century plate glass panes. Each side of the canted section has a bay with a French window and margin lights on the ground floor, and a sashed window with glazing bars and a segmental head on the first floor. An additional bay has been added to the left side of the house. Inside, there is a dog-leg stair with two flights and a balustrade featuring a Chinese Chippendale pattern.
