Description
Hayes House is a 17th-century timber-framed house with an early 19th-century extension added to the north. The original part of the house is two storeys high and features a modern tiled roof that has gable ends facing the street. The exterior showcases exposed timbers and includes a collar-and-tie beam end truss with arched struts and a central post. There are three modern casement windows, and the ground floor has been partially rebuilt in painted brick, which may have been jettied in the past. Additionally, there is one 19th-century sash window. The adjoining range is made of painted brick and consists of one storey with an attic, featuring a gabled dormer. The entrance has a round arched surround with a blank head above it, and there is a late 19th-century shop front with brick dentilled eaves.
