Description
These are a group of six gas street lamps. They feature a common design, with variations noted below. Each lamp has a tapering Windsor lantern or a square Maxilla lantern supported on four scrolled or straight brackets. These lanterns are set on a tapering octagonal column with a heavily-moulded octagonal ring. The moulded base sits on an octagonal plinth with chamfered and stepped stops; the plinth is cast with the founder's mark. Each lamp has a ladder rest which is octagonal, although one lamp has a reeded ladder rest arm that has been relocated. One column carries the stencilled number 11, one has the stencilled number 10, and another has the stencilled number 7. One lamp also has a modern upward extension to its column.
