Description

The West Malvern War Memorial is a First World War memorial built after 1919 and altered after the Second World War. It is made of red stone and is located prominently by the roadside within the boundary walls of the southeastern edge of the churchyard of the Church of St James, which is also a listed building.

The memorial features a red stone column with a tapering octagonal cross shaft that stands on an inscribed, octagonal stepped base. At the top, it is adorned with a small coped cross. The names of parish members who fell in the conflict are inscribed on the octagonal base, and around the chamfered top of the base, the dates of the two conflicts are also inscribed.
