Description

Lindridge House is a mid-18th century house with alterations and additions from the early 19th century. It is constructed of brick with a plain tiled roof. The original part of the house has two storeys and three bays, featuring ground floor windows with gauged flat arches and 16-pane sashes, and first floor outer windows with 20 panes. The central first floor window has 16 panes. A central entrance has an open pediment, pilasters, a six-panelled door, and a traceried fanlight. A large, two-storey canted bay addition adjoins the right gable end. This addition has a stone modillion eaves cornice, a parapet, a stone sill band, and gauged flat arches with stone key blocks above the windows. The front elevation of the addition has large 24-pane sashes, while other windows are blind. Inside, a room on the left of the ground floor has a beamed ceiling with large main beams, and a large fireplace. A moulded ceiling cornice is found in the right ground floor room. A large external brick chimney with offsets is located to the rear left, and is now partially enclosed by a later addition. The outbuildings that have been converted and adjoin the left gable end are not part of the listing.
