Description
Horton Manor Farmhouse is a house dating from the 17th century, with possible earlier remains. It features a combination of brick and timber-framing with a tiled roof, arranged in a T-plan. The building has two storeys and an attic, with a cross-wing on the left that consists of one bay and includes two string courses, the upper one featuring a course of projecting headers. On the ground floor, there is a 19th-century timber canted bay window. The main range has three bays; on the left side of the ground floor, there is another 19th-century canted bay window, while the right side has a 20th-century casement window. The first-floor windows are fitted with leaded glazing and have timber mullions and transoms. The entrance door is located in the middle bay. At the junction with the cross-wing, there is a narrow gabled timber-framed turret. A chimney is positioned behind the ridge towards the left side of the main range. At the rear, there is a wing that showcases exposed timber-framing. The interior was not accessible during the survey conducted in June 1986.
