Description
Holdfast Hall is a house built around 1830, featuring a 17th-century rear range. The building has plain tile roofs, with the rear range constructed of timber framing and painted brick, standing two stories tall. It showcases heavy square framing and an exposed queen strut truss in the west gable end, along with a square chimney stack on the north roof slope. There is a lean-to against the west wall, which has a 3-light window above it. The south front of the house includes three casements above, along with one 2-light and one 4-light window below. An early 19th-century rear verandah is supported by slim iron columns. The front range, which is of lesser interest, is made of painted brick and also stands two stories with a hipped roof. The east front features a three-window range with sash windows that have cambered heads, while the door is obscured by a later porch. The south side has a two-window range, including one later 19th-century stone bay window.
